You should know something about me.
I think denim jackets are SO cool. I may be a little obsessed with them.
Basically, if you’re wearing one, I’ll probably just assume you’re cool.
And I’m not even exactly sure why!
Maybe it’s because they have the power to turn any outfit around, giving it that instant “cooler than you” vibe. I think for me it goes back to the movie The Parent Trap (the one with Lindsey Lohan). Remember how Hallie is always wearing that denim jacket? I’ll admit I thought she was the cooler twin, and I think the denim jacket probably had something to do with it. Or maybe it goes back to when Justin and Britney wore their iconic denim (yeah, you know what I’m talking about!) and JT rocked that denim jacket…not really. They tried so hard, but we all know that was a poor choice.
Either way, I knew I wanted the jacket to be a central piece of the outfit. Pair it with an urban rooftop setting and a killer pair of Quay shades and you have this photoshoot.
I got so excited for these photos for a few reasons. First off, Jess is one of my very close friends from school, and taking photos of a friend is always more fun! Secondly, I got to use my prism, which is still very new to me, but such a great tool to up your photo game.
As always please contact me if you need portraits for any occasion, and especially if you have a cool denim jacket 😉
